Assalamu'alaikum w.b.t
Today is 27 Rejab 1432, it is Isra' Mi'raj {Night Journey to Jerusalem (al-Isra') and Ascension to the heavens (al-Mi'raj)}. Allah had recorded the event in the Qur'an:
"Glory to ((Allah)) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things)." (al-Isra':1)
In this special event, Prophet Muhammad s.a.w had received the obligatory of five daily prayers "live" as there's no mediator from Jibril to receive this second pillar of Islam. We can see how Allah emphasis the obligatory of prayer in our life as He invited His Messenger to see Him to receive the "present". And today... are we see the prayer as "present" or.....(everyone can fill in the blank according what answer that been given by your heart). It is up to individual to evaluate his/her performance of this sacred ritual of Islam. Here, I would like to share a poem or sajak in Malay about prayer. This sajak was quoted from a magazine, but I cannot even trace back what magazine it is as I'd read this poem since I was kid, and I don't even very sure whether that magazine still exist or not. But it never mind, I hope we will together take lessons from the poem and hope it can inspiring us to make the betterment of our worship to Allah. InsyaAllah....we'll find the way...
"Siapa aku di hadapan Tuhanku….
Subuhnya….
Di mana aku berada
Masih enak di dalam kelambu rindu
Sambil berfoya-foya dengan waktu
Masa bagaikan menderu
Langkah tiada arah tuju
Fikiran terus bercelaru
Terlupa aku semakin di hujung waktu
Siapa aku di hadapan Tuhanku….
Zuhurnya…..
Aku lebih memikirkan kelaparan
Kehausan dan rehatku
Aku lebih mementingkan
Tuntutan jawatanku
Aku bertolak ansur dengan waktu
Aku gembira membilang keuntungan
Aku terlupa betapa besar kerugian
Jika aku menggadaikan sebuah ketaatan
Siapa aku di hadapan Tuhanku…..
Asarnya…..
Aku lupa warna masa
Cepat berubah bagaikan ditolak-tolak
Aku masih dengan secawan kopiku
Terlalu panas hingga di hujung kepala
Aku masih bercerita
Tentang si Tuah yang setia
Dan si Jebat yang derhaka
Siapa aku di hadapan Tuhanku…
Maghribnya…
Aku melihat warna malam
Tetapi aku masih berlegar
Di sebalik tabirnya
Mencari-cari keseronokan
Tidak terasa ruang masa yang singkat
Jalan yang bertongkat-tongkat
Ruginya bertingkat-tingkat
Siapa aku di hadapan Tuhanku…..
Isya’nya…..
Kerana masanya yang panjang
Aku membiarkan penat
Menghimpit dadaku
Aku membiarkan kelesuan
Menggangguku
Aku rela terlena sambil menarik selimut biru
Bercumbu-cumbu dengan waktuku
Siapa aku di hadapan Tuhanku….
Kini aku menjadi tertanya-tanya
Sampai bila aku akan
Melambatkan sujudku
Apabila azan berkumandang lagi
Aku tidak akan membiarkan
Masjid menjadi sepi
Kerana di hujung hidup ada mati
Bagaimana jenazah
Akan dibawa sembahyang di sini
Jika ruangku dibiarkan kosong
Jika wajahku menjadi asing
Pada mentari dan juga bintang-bintang….
Siapa aku di hadapan Tuhanku….. "
